RogerKart Expert Take: is LG 55" NU87 Nano 4K worth buying?
Written by RogerKart, not copied from store reviewsThe NU87 is a popular mid-range 55-inch TV: thousands of buyers have rated it, and longer-term reviewers praise its picture and webOS. LG's Nano colour and α7 processor give a cleaner picture than basic 4K TVs, and HDMI eARC with ALLM suits a soundbar and casual console gaming. It's still a 60Hz LED panel, so blacks and HDR are limited, and the 20W speakers are just okay. When a card offer brings it to a basic 4K TV price, it's a good step up.
✓ Buy it if
- ✓You want a better picture than basic 4K TVs without paying for QLED or OLED.
- ✓You like LG's webOS and Magic Remote style.
- ✓You plan to add a soundbar (HDMI eARC).
✕ Skip it if
- ✕You want 120Hz for PS5 or Xbox.
- ✕You watch in a dark room and want deep blacks.
- ✕You want loud, rich sound without a soundbar.
