RogerKart Expert Take: is Galaxy A17 5G worth buying?
Written by RogerKart, not copied from store reviewsThe A17 5G is for people who want a simple, reliable Samsung with a good AMOLED screen, steady camera and long software support — parents, first-time smartphone users, or a backup phone. It is slow for the money: apps open slowly, the Exynos 1330 struggles with games, and 25W charging takes a while. If performance matters, phones from other brands at the same price are much faster. Buy it only at a good discount, and for the Samsung software, not speed.
✓ Buy it if
- ✓You want a basic Samsung phone with a good AMOLED screen and long updates.
- ✓It's for calls, WhatsApp, YouTube and photos — not games.
- ✓You want expandable storage with a microSD card.
✕ Skip it if
- ✕You want a fast phone — rivals at this price are much quicker.
- ✕You play games or keep many apps open.
- ✕You want fast charging; 25W is slow.
